World Environmental Day!
It’s here, the official World Environmental Day at Northstone Materials! 
Like many companies, we recognise the importance of highlighting these days in our calendar. Our focus is not on one day; we look at World Environment Day 365 days a year.
Our core objectives within our Environmental Policy are pollution prevention, reducing our environmental impact, and enhancing biodiversity where possible.
With our core objectives in mind, we have exciting news. Placement Student from Queen’s University Belfast, Hanna Miskimmin, has joined our Environmental team for the year. Hanna will develop updated biodiversity action plans, deliver wildlife enhancement projects, raise awareness among staff, delivering on biodiversity open days (post-Covid-19), and much more.
Here is what Hanna has to say “Coming from a family involved in both construction and agriculture, I have always been interested in the environment and the impacts we have on it. This inspired me to study Environmental Management at university with the hope to go into industry, where I'd be able to learn more about the relationship between business and the environment - which, thanks to Northstone Materials, I can do! I'm most looking forward to meeting new people and getting out on-site to see how I apply theory to practice"!
