Sam McAfee Retires After 21 Years

Happy Retirement, Sam!

After 21 years of service, Sam decided to hang up the boots and the reflective jacket on his 65th birthday, 19th July 2021!

Sam joined the company on the 8th June 2000 with former R J Maxwell & Sons Ltd, interviewed by Ronnie McKee and Henry O'Kane. He was our Civils Squad Foreman in the Northern Division, a very conscientious man who could turn his hand to anything you asked of him, taking great pride in his work. 

Sam is accompanied by his wife Linda who spends a lot of her time looking after their three grandchildren. Linda was delighted for Sam to be retiring and is looking forward to spending some quality time with him and the family. His son David and daughter Caroline have plenty to keep him occupied with sunroom projects and babysitting duties. Colleagues Craig, David & Robert now have the mantle and will keep up the high standards set by Sam. 

We wish him a long and happy retirement like his great grandmother that lived to 104!
