Paul Toal Marks 45 Years of Service
Monday 29th July marked 45 Years Service for boat operator, Paul Toal, pictured above in his barge, the Sandpiper.
Describing his career to date, Paul told us he left school as a keen 15-year-old and started his first job at the airfield on a Saturday morning loading tiles onto lorries. He did this for about a year, then a place became available in the block yard and he was asked if he could go and help them out.
Having been in that job for a few years, Paul also tried his hand at welding within the company. A job then came up within the sand division and on the boats and as they say, the rest is history.
Paul says "Things have changed a lot over the years, too much for me to go into, we'll maybe leave that for my 50th anniversary. It still doesn’t feel like 45 years. Time flies by very fast.”
Congratulations, Paul, from all at Northstone.
