NI Apprentice Week - Callum Carty

Callum Carty - Apprentice Construction Surveyor - Contracts (East)

Callum joined NSM on 13th November 2023 as an apprentice Construction Surveyor. In addition to working for the company four days a week, Callum spends one day at Northern Regional College. When we caught up with Callum, he had settled in well and told us the following:

"I have settled in well in my first few months as an Apprentice Engineer here at Northstone. I have been working on several projects, namely the West Bank Road Lighting and City Quays Gardens schemes. Being on-site daily enables me to establish a firm understanding of the construction, as you can see the work being conducted step by step. The best part about being in an apprenticeship is that the aspects on site (e.g. planning and setting out) link up and tie in with the modules incorporated in my studies such as Digital Construction, Surveying and Mathematics".
