Mega Truck Pull and Family Fun Day

What A Day!!

 

Saturday 2nd September, sunshine, crowds, truck pull, truck show, vintage vehicle display, entertainment and so much more.  

 

Our Mega Truck Pull and Family Fun Day was the success we hoped for.  Donations and Sponsorship are still coming in.  As soon as we have the final figure, we will let everyone know how much was raised for our charity partner, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland. 

 

Thank you to everyone who attended or helped in any way.  A particular shout-out to those who attended with their trucks or participated in the truck pull.   The display of truck fleets was unbelievably impressive, as was the drivers' evident pride in their vehicles.

 

On the day, we had 8 truck pull teams.  Flintstones, Northstone Ninjas, Kicking Asphalt, The Lough Squad, The Winning Team (Who didn't win!), The Demolition Crew (Demense Contracts), The Terminators (Tate & Sons) and CAMikaze (CAM Plant).

 

Never mind the weather; the heat was definitely on in the truck pull competition.  It is fair to say that the Flintstones (Matt Dickson, Steven Oldham, Colin Magwood & Chris Yorke) led the competition for most of the event.  In the final, they faced the Northstone Ninjas (Paddy Flood, Chris Arkins, Liam McMenamin & Martin Tougher) and what a contest it was.  The Ninjas pulled out of the starting lane at speed, and despite their best efforts, the Flintstones couldn't catch them. The Ninjas celebrated in style; you would have thought they had just won the Formula 1!!
