Kerr Street and Portrush Harbour Environmental Improvement Scheme
Greg McDaid, Engineer, was invited to the opening of the Kerr Street and Portrush Harbour Environmental Improvement Scheme, which took place on the 19th of September at the Portrush Town Hall.
Following refreshments and a few words from David Jackson, CEO of CC&GBC, Steven Callaghan, Mayor of CC&GBC and Mark O'Donnell, Deputy Secretary of the Department for Communities, a site visit followed, where Derek Logue of GM Design Associates, said a few words about the scope of works, design, materials used and execution of the scheme.
The Portrush EI Scheme was a £1 million contract to improve the aesthetics of the walkways and built environment and to reduce clutter at Kerr Street and the harbour. Also, after a safety audit carried out by the harbour master, it was deemed that railings should be installed around the edge of the harbour walls in Portrush. The scheme extended from Castle Erin Road down to the footbridge at the harbour.
A massive well done to our Northern Division Contracting Team. If you are in the Portrush area, be sure to check out the finished product.
