It’s World Bee Day!

It’s World Bee Day! 

 

In honour of world bee day, we visited our own Northstone Materials beehive to see how they are doing. They’re still in their temporary hive, but as you can see, they look happy.

 

Unfortunately, in the past few years, bee populations have rapidly declined. As bees are essential pollinators, this threatens food production!

 

At Northstone Materials, we want to help in any way we can!

We are installing beehives across several of our sites. We have also been taking part in the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan’s Plant a Pot (or tyre in our case) for Pollinators. We have generated an additional food source for the bees by planting pollinator-friendly bulbs and seeds in our various tyre planters.
