Ballymena Belles 2024 Women-Only Race
What a fantastic night it was at the Ballymena Belles 2024 women-only race to celebrate its 10th anniversary!
The sold-out event saw 350 women from across mid and east Antrim, Belfast, and the north coast take on the challenging 5-mile route from Galgorm, Co. Antrim. The runners were presented with unique medals made from recycled materials sponsored by Northstone.
Our very own Eleanor Forrest Reid, one of the race organising committee members, and Rebecca Mitchell participated in the race for the first time, making it even more special for us.
Debbie McConnell from North Belfast Harriers was the overall winner, followed by Kathleen Law from Ballymena Runners in second place and Fionnuala O'Hare, also from North Belfast Harriers, in third. North Belfast Harriers also won the team prize.
The event had a fantastic buzz, and everyone, including the runners, their supporters, and the race volunteers, enjoyed the hospitality provided by Ballymena Runners.
Another beneficiary of this brilliant community event is the MEA Affordable Food Club, the charity of the Ballymena Belles event.
This is the first club of its kind in Northern Ireland. Thank you, Pablo McClurkin & Tim Lowry, for capturing the wonderful moments of the event.
